How roll-up shutters work
Roll-up shutters are constructed from interlocking aluminum slats that store inside a compact housing mounted above the opening. When needed, the shutter travels smoothly within aluminum side guide rails to cover and protect the window, door, or other opening.
Spring-Assisted
Simply pull the shutter down by hand and push it back up. An internal spring helps counterbalance the weight, making operation quick and easy.
Manual Hand Crank
A removable crank handle raises and lowers the shutter through a gear-driven system, ideal for smaller openings when electrical power isn't available or desired.
Motorized
Raise or lower the shutter with the touch of a wall switch or remote control.
Solar-Powered
Enjoy the convenience of motorized operation without the need for household electrical wiring. The integrated solar panel keeps the battery charged automatically.
Smart Home Ready
For added convenience, many motorized shutters can also be integrated with smartphone apps and compatible smart home systems. Premium models are available to protect openings up to 19 feet wide while maintaining their hurricane impact rating.
